Aces Soccer

It's the middle of the soccer season. The Aces are undefeated and can't be stopped. They have been blowing out the other teams, usually scores like 7-1 or 11-0. This team has been together for 4 years now, and they're playing like a well-oiled machine. Winning is always nice, but I think the boys are starting to wish for a little challenge. They're looking forward to the play-offs for some competition.
Cal usually plays forward/striker the first half of the game. He likes staying by the goal where all the action is.
The second half, he usually plays goalie. It's a lonely half becuase the Aces keep the ball at the other end for most of the game. Cal watches everything, though, and coaches from the box to make sure everyone is where he should be at all times.
And yes, the socks fashion statement is intentional. It makes it easy to locate him on the field.

First Day of School!

Monday, August 25, 2008

No one was ready to go back to school this year. We had a great Summer, and we did not want it to end. But it did. So we focused on the fun aspects of going back to school. Cal knew he was going back to a great teacher for his last year of elementary school. He had Mrs. White for 3rd grade, and this year she moved up to 5th grade. He also just got several new basketball jerseys for his birthday, and he looked forward to wearing those.

Kayla looked forward to seeing all the friends she did not see over the Summer. We had a fun shopping day buying her new clothes, too. She picked everything out herself this year.
Both kids looked forward to being apart from each other all day again!
